PART I: Community Meeting with Deloitte

Battersea Studios Development

Planning Case No.  2021/0641

Local Councillor & Community Representatives Meet with Deloitte.

After a community-driven campaign to Object to the proposed development, Deloitte conducted an on-site meeting with local Wandsworth Councillor, Aydin Dikerdem, and 4 community representatives.

Deloitte presented visual renderings for the proposed future of the building, explained the location of the building, and the use of the building.

During the meeting the community representatives had the opportunity to express the following concerns raised in the objection letters:

  1. Height of the building

  2. Traffic concerns

  3. Parking concerns

  4. Necessity of the building in a Post-Covid world

  5. Cohesiveness of the building within the BDTQ

  6. Benefits to the community

  7. Green space/Publicly accessible space

  8. Larger plan

The community also voiced it’s concerns about a post-facto meeting for community input, rather than seeing the developer be pro-active in community engagement.

The meeting left the community’s issues unresolved, but opened the door for further discussion.
